| OUR SISTER CONCERNS: 1.MOLLY MACHINE TOOLS: This was established in the year 1982 under the managing partnership of Mr. P. V. Joy. They have complete range of clay working machinery, machinery for plywood mills and machinery for the manufacture of matches. 2.SAKTHI CERAMICS: Clay is closely associated with mankind since times immemorial. Clay has provided man with a number of items of daily use. Man with his superior intellect and the ability to use his hands began to modify his habitat as well as to fashion various objects which he felt were necessary or would enhance the quality of his life. Man used clay to make pottery, bricks and tiles, which were used to make roofs for his humble and not so humble dwelling. Later when his sense of aesthetics developed or rather he had the time to indulge in it, he used decorative tiles for flooring, and pottery as decorative items. The popularity of clay is due to its distinctive features like plasticity or elasticity when wet, its ability to retain any given form when dried and finally burning into a strong body with a beautiful colour. Earthen pots made as far back as 5000 B.C. have been unearthed and some of them are still intact. Clay based products are very much a part of modern industry. Advanced technology has meant use of clay products for decorative purposes, especially contemporary architecture such as clay roof tiles over concrete slabs and floor tiles, enhancing the elegance and character of building and its interior. In India the advent of clay roof tiles as an industry started with the arrival of Christian Missionaries from Germany and Switzerland about 125 years ago. The Missionaries pioneered the setting up of tiles factory first in Mangalore and later Calicut. The main contributing factor for this development was the availability of good alluvial red clay along the Malabar Coast. Later the local people entered the field and set up factories at Calicut, Trichur, Quilon, etc. in Kerala. In the past few decades, clay tiles and brick factories have been established in Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat states. Now the tile and brick has its own position in the construction industry. Sakthi Ceramics was established in the year 1994 under the proprietorship of Mr. P. V. Joy, Sakthi Ceramics are manufacturers of all kinds of clay products like floor tiles, Hurde's wirecut bricks, decorative tiles etc. and is equipped with latest machinery such as clay mixer, fine grinding rollers, pug mill, de-airing pug mill, automatic revolving press etc. Our mission is to accomplish continuous improvement driven by integrity, teamwork, and innovative ideas.
